As an experienced post frame builder, we know firsthand that the weather is unpredictable and uncontrollable. One day, our construction crews are erecting pole barns in the brutal chill. The next day, it’s sunny with temperatures in the mid-50s. Not to mention, the wind is a constant force in the Midwest. Eventually, you become accustomed to the abnormal weather patterns.

There are a lot of variables that go into place when you decide to build a pole barn. Some of them you may already know, some might come as a surprise to you. Condensation is a naturally occurring phenomenon and is fairly common in the post frame industry. Condensation occurs when warm, moisture-laden air comes in contact with a cooler surface, such as the underside of your roof steel; similar to the way a cold can of soda sweats in the summer.
