At the beginning of the year, you and your significant other decided to build a new pole barn. Ever since your family expanded, the kids have claimed the house garage. You’re tired of navigating the maze of bicycles, coupe cars, strollers, wagons, and other miscellaneous toys. Who knew kids could collect so much stuff? We feel your pain. Storage is a necessity. That’s why we wholeheartedly support your decision to build a tool shed.

Water condenses when warm, moisture-laden air contacts a cooler surface, such as the underside of your roof steel. Because lower-temperature air cannot hold as much moisture as warmer air, the excess humidity turns into water droplets. Then….drip, drip, drip! But if you reduce the humidity inside, you dramatically reduce condensation.

As we know by now, there are many things to take into consideration during the planning stage of your new post frame building project. Actually, this statement is true for any big event, vacation, or large purchase that you might make during your lifetime. Your wife wants to go somewhere warm and tropical and relax on the beach (or maybe this is a dream of your husband or significant other). You, on the other hand, prefer to do something adventurous and in the mountains. After all, that’s the whole purpose of a vacation, right? How do you even make a decision?

Building columns, also known as posts or even poles, are one of the most important elements in post-frame construction because they are the final point of transfer for most building stresses to the foundation. The posts can either be buried to the ground or anchored to an above-ground concrete foundation. Depending on who you choose as your post frame builder will depend on how your columns are installed. Each post frame builder will more than likely have two column options to choose from: a standard column or an upgraded column.
