Do you consider yourself an organized person? For some of us, it comes naturally. For others, it’s a work in progress. Each and every single one of us has our own system on how we store things. We understand that most people shop around and get multiple pole barn quotes before they make a decision. It’s also not uncommon for us to get several questions from our customers asking how we differ from other pole barn builders or supply companies. Whether you’re looking for a farm building, hobby barn or horse stable, we want to ensure that you understand the seven key differences to look for when comparing builders. Over the next several weeks, we will compare our post-frame buildings with some of our biggest competitors.

When it’s time for you to start designing your post frame building, what steps do you think you need to take? It’s not uncommon for some customers to sketch their pole barn layout on graph paper because they don’t want to forget their design. Not only does this help them visualize the layout of their building prior to talking to a post frame builder, but it also lets them compare different layouts if they have more than one in mind.

There are a lot of decisions to make when building a pole barn. From the overall building design to figuring out proper site preparation, and even choosing your building colors. Aside from pole barn costs, one of the even bigger decisions to make is trying to figure out the proper amount of square footage you will need...without running out of space. That could be tricky, right? Trust me when I say that we hear this all the time from our customers, “I wish I would have made my building bigger.” And we get it.

After several months (or years) of kicking the idea around of building a pole barn, you’ve finally made the decision that you’re going to move forward with this long overdue project. You’ve spoken to friends who have a post frame building, you’ve done your research online, and you’ve probably even read Google reviews on who the best pole barn builders are. Your decisions have been narrowed down to the top three builders (in your opinion), and you want to do your due diligence and make sure you get an apples to apples quote comparison.
